Joy’s Bachelorette Night in Downtown Indy

Saturday night, I had a blast celebrating Joy’s (a close friend) upcoming nuptials.  We all got together to celebrate Joy’s Bachelorette Party.

Joy's Bachelorette Party

Originally, we planned on making it more of a weekend event rather than just one night…but Joy got sick!  Thankfully, all of the girls involved were VERY flexible and we were able to switch some things around making this a memorable and fun night for Joy.

Before the girls arrived, I transformed my apartment into bachelorette party central with a theme of turquoise, gray, and pink with chevron accents.

Brian’s mom helped by making some decor to put up around the house, and my mom helped my creating some signs to really make Joy feel special.

Although we were going to dinner later in the evening, I had a feeling some of the girls may be a little hungry so I made some snacks for everyone to munch on.  I whipped up a batch of my homemade hummus with veggie and pretzel thin dippers and some mini flourless double chocolate chip muffins (minus the chocolate chips!).

There were also goodie bags for all the girls attending the bachelorette evening.

Brian’s mom and brother got crafty to help fill these up!

Each girl received:

A glammed out water-bottle.

Homemade coconut oil lip balm.

Adam made each girl a candle.

Kate also threw in some adorable (and delicious smelling) homemade salt scrub.

Adam put in cute packages of his homemade soap.

And because the bride-to-be loves almond butter…I threw in some homemade almond butter!

Once the girls arrived, we did a little lingerie gift exchange.  Everything was so pretty and classy…just like Joy!

Don’t you love Joy’s flower crown veil!?

Beth, one of the girls attending the party, made Joy a beautiful flower crown veil.  It was SO Joy’s style 🙂

After gift time, we played the Question Book Game!

This was such a hit!

I saw this idea on Julie’s blog, Peanut Butter Fingers, a few years ago and I had saved this idea for the time when I would plan a bachelorette party.  I am so glad I remembered to throw this game into the fun!

Joy's Bachelorette Party

I asked Alex, Joy’s fiance, about 35 questions about Joy, him, and their relationship.  I then wrote the question and answer on a little page, decorated it with love and wedding themed stickers, and put it all in a small photo album.

We each read a question and Joy had to guess what Alex’s answer was.  Originally, we were going to play with jell-o shots, but because Joy was a little under the weather, we played with gum instead!  It was just as fun!

If Joy got the answer right, she got to give out a stick of gum.  If she got the answer wrong, she had to put the gum in her mouth…she had quite a few pieces of gum in her mouth by the end 🙂

I asked these questions (that I found on Peanut Butter Fingers) to the groom:

  • When and where was your first kiss with the bride-to-be?
  • Where was your first date with the bride-to-be?
  • What do you think the bride-to-be’s favorite gift is from you?
  • What is the one item the bride-to-be cannot not live without?
  • What is the bride-to-be’s dream job?
  • If the bride-to-be could move anywhere without having to worry about a job or family, where would it be?
  • What is the bride-to-be’s most obnoxious habit?
  • What is your most obnoxious habit?
  • What turns the bride-to-be off the most about a man?
  • What turns you off the most about a woman?
  • What do you think is the bride-to-be’s favorite memory of your relationship?
  • What is your favorite memory of your relationship with the bride-to-be?
  • What does the bride-to-be picture when she looks into the future?
  • What do you picture when you look into the future?
  • What do you think the bride-to-be loves most about you?
  • What do you love the most about the bride-to-be?
  • What is a big dream of the bride-to-be’s?
  • What is a big dream of yours?
  • What is one thing the bride-to-be will never forget that you did for/said to her?
  • When does the bride-to-be want to have kids?
  • How many kids does the bride-to-be want to have?
  • How many kids do you want to have?
  • If the bride-to-be were an animal, what type of animal would she be and why?
  • If you were an animal, what type of animal would you be and why?

Shortly after the question book game was finished, it was time to head to dinner.

Joy's Bachelorette Party

Dinner was at Adobo, a Mexican restaurant in downtown Indianapolis.

Another fun aspect of the party…we each had giant light up diamond rings!! 🙂

Joy's Bachelorette Party

We ordered a giant pitcher of raspberry margarita to share…yummy!

And we made sure to get some delicious guacamole too…

They make the guac table-side, which makes it taste THAT much better.

Cassie and her delicious cocktail that tasted like chocolate milk 😉

After a fun dinner (and a few cocktails…) we headed out to a super-cool Indianapolis bar called Ball and Biscuit.

This bar has a super-chill vibe and is known for it’s fancy and delicious cocktails.

I enjoyed this Cucumber Caipiroska…so refreshing!

The night ended with lots of laughs at Pearl Street, a pizzeria and bar that Cassie used to work at.  It’s always a favorite spot to hit up when we go out.

And since we were at a pizzeria…the night ended with a delicious slice of pizza.  I don’t even remember the last time I had a REAL slice of pizza 🙂  Italy perhaps?

Regardless, it was so yummy!

This night was absolutely amazing, and I am so happy we were able to honor Joy before her wedding next Friday.  I can’t believe the big day is so close!!  We love you, Joy!!  Enjoy these last couple of weeks as a “single” lady 🙂
